Ever since we produced our own car and built the tallest building then, we really enjoyed being in the eyes of the world much. Often we try to over achieve ourselves and trying hard to made headlines in the global news.
Recent years I felt that we have lesser achievement to brag about to the world. No more our own first satellite, lesser record breaker, our own F1 team, domination in squash, badminton - old rivalry all over again, and national football team comeback (?).
Perhaps we have reached our limitation in achieving great things. All I can remember about story that made headline are Mongolian killed with C4, its suicide and not murder, funny lawyer interrogating Thailand's forensic, first funny submarine, diamond ring bought with savings from young, citizen being hurt over peaceful demonstration...
Lately the notable headlines are concert was last minute banned over a so-called sensitive picture of the singer posted by the local newspaper, local airlines made a huge loss, financial scandals, citizen is ready for radioactive as sounds of cash register is louder than the citizen's voice...
Then again, human limitation is only in the mind. I can't wait to see us getting back on our feet and start to really impress the world again. Perhaps next time the headlines will be 'Finally, new directions!', 'Making way for the new', 'Change has come'...
I'm just being general today =)
