Parents, Please Do Talk Politics with Your Children

I don't really know the culture of every family in Malaysia, but do parents really talk about politics with their children with the intention of trying to educate them about the country, their rights and what they can do to make a differences?

In my own family, my parents rarely talk about politics with me and my brother. Not the current issues, who is what minister and what's really going on with the country. My parents have their own thoughts about politicians and politics, but they just never discuss or share their thoughts with us.

Growing up I really don't care too much about Malaysia's political situation. As long as we are not at war and we are still be able to work for food, then I will not really give a damn who rule the country; opposition or the government. Yes I was ignorance and I am an unregistered voter.

Ever since Bersih 2.0 and Bersih 3.0, I begin to witness and read a lot regarding our country's situation. I realize that I have missed out a lot in making a better future for Malaysia and for all Malaysian in general. I failed to realize the power that I hold in order to make a better changes.

Parents, don't let your children to be ignorance about the country. Educate them about politics and the rights that they have. Don't be bias, allow your children to be able to make their own judgement and choice but first, help them to open up their eyes to what's really going on.

You don't want them to be left out in making a great changes for the country one day.

Saya anak bangsa Malaysia dan saya cintakan Malaysia! My race is Malaysia and I love Malaysia!

Have a great week ahead people! =)

  10. the thing is what's the proper age? I don't remember when, I've already started to jump in family gathering in the weekend (oo yeah), with pusas, poginuman and sit with uncles and aunties, listening them blabbering about neighbors, households, children and somehow politic issue is somewhere in the slots. So if parents don't tell you directly, join one. After all, no one would open the door, if you don't knock at the 1st place.
