The Green Crusaders from Land Below the Wind

You might have noticed that room8five has been following the progress of Miss Earth Sabah 2012 and also Miss Malaysia Earth 2012. On July 15th, Deviyah Daranee from Kuala Lumpur has been crowned as Miss Malaysia Earth 2012, while the Green Crusaders from Sabah has won most of the subsidiary titles offered in the competition.

room8five would love to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank the Sabahan representative; Deidre Ann, Joanna, Grace and Xandria for their hard work and dedication to excel in the competition. As a Sabahan I do take pride in their overall achievement in the MME2012 and would love to see them doing even more for the environment in the future.

Winning the crown is not the main reason why Miss Earth was first introduced, but it was meant to be a platform to help create awareness and to have a (beautiful) representative to actually initiate actions to help restore mother-earth to its healthy form again.

I really hope that this is not just a beauty pageant for individual to try and gain fame, but more toward the contestants' passion for the environment and that's what really matter. In the end, when time passes, and a new person is being crown, fame will slowly be forgotten, but passion creates legacy and legacy are meant to stay forever.

To ALL the contestants, room8five wishes you all the best in your future, and continue to be the Green Crusader that you ought to be proud of. Go green!
