WeChat & Avast! Launch Event

The event was organized by APAC Venture Sdn. Bhd. at Zouk KL on the 20th June 2012, to launch AVAST newly improved version 7 and also the launch of it's social app WeChat in Malaysia. More than 200 bloggers, local celebrities, media members and partners showed up for the event.

The main highlight for the night would be the first hand experience of the WeChat application. It works similarly like the Whatsapp application and the obvious difference that WeChat offered is the 'Shake' function. You'll be able to 'Shake' your device and connects with other WeChat users both locally and internationally.

My friends and I agree that the 'Shake' function makes you feel like you are going for match making. Shake your device and wait to see who showed up on your screen. After viewing the person's profile and picture, then you'll be able to decide whether you wanted to add them in your friends' list or not.

Since WeChat is orginally from China and was just newly launched in Malaysia, almost all the user that you could find is mainly from China and only a handful are from Malaysia. Other than that, WeChat still works great as a normal messenger for text messaging, hold-to-talk voice messaging, photo/video sharing, location sharing and contact information exchange.

Thank you so much APAC Venture Sdn. Bhd. for inviting me for the event!

AVAST antivirus and Sensonic optical mouse as a door gift :D

Genting Highland and Zouk KL

Olla people! How's life lately? Its chegu Carol blog's 6th anniversary, do visit 'The Guru-Guru Life' and drop her a few wishes and words of encouragement for such an awesome blogger :D

I just came back from a 2D1N trip at Genting Highland and it was deliciously awesome because all the invited bloggers was being given a chance to eat some expensive oriental cuisines. It was also my first time meeting the famous and good looking Tian ChadWhat a life changing experience!

A great thanks to Nuffnang and Resort World Genting for the opportunity.

After I came back from Genting, I attended another event at night at Zouk KL. Oh yeah, it was my first time in Zouk. I was surprise to saw Wendy (a blogger whom I first met in the Genting Oriental Cuisine event) there, haha, never thought we will bump into each other after Genting so soon.

It was also my first time to meet up with the lovely tall Pisces girl - Charmaine in person (she is indeed super tall!). There was a lot more bloggers there (since it was a bloggers night), but I hardly know who is who then, and only realize who they are after I saw the pictures posted.

Anyway, it has been a great start of the week for me. Will blog about the events soon and hopefully all of you had a great start of the week also :D

Carpe Diem all!

Until next time, see you around my friend =)

Watching Football Can Make You Fat!

He might not be watching Euro 2012 but he's still eating!

The Euro 2012 fever has long begun and the night stays young till the final whistle is blown. Friends (mostly guys) hangout more often than before, big screen projector is visible almost everywhere you go and more people are showing up late for work in the morning (and perhaps the population of zombie increased at the same time).

The group match starts at 12am and 245am the next one. Staying awake for all the matches creates more time for the body to be alert and most of all, to crave for foods. Watching Euro 2012 is not just a normal match you watch on weekend, but nowadays it's a fiesta.

Booze, mamak, Chinese, fries, fast food, snacks, carbonated drinks, and every possible thing that a body can consume will be put on the table to be enjoyed while watching the match. How in the right mind can we keep up with the healthy diet? It would be awkward to watch a match with friends empty handed tho.

Can't wake up early for exercise the next day, gained some weight at the end of the week and the cycles continues until a country lift that trophy and restore life as it is again. Well, before that happened, let's all practice our self control and stay healthy throughout Euro 2012 :D

I'm rooting for Spain! Woohooo! =)

Parents, Please Do Talk Politics with Your Children

I don't really know the culture of every family in Malaysia, but do parents really talk about politics with their children with the intention of trying to educate them about the country, their rights and what they can do to make a differences?

In my own family, my parents rarely talk about politics with me and my brother. Not the current issues, who is what minister and what's really going on with the country. My parents have their own thoughts about politicians and politics, but they just never discuss or share their thoughts with us.

Growing up I really don't care too much about Malaysia's political situation. As long as we are not at war and we are still be able to work for food, then I will not really give a damn who rule the country; opposition or the government. Yes I was ignorance and I am an unregistered voter.

Ever since Bersih 2.0 and Bersih 3.0, I begin to witness and read a lot regarding our country's situation. I realize that I have missed out a lot in making a better future for Malaysia and for all Malaysian in general. I failed to realize the power that I hold in order to make a better changes.

Parents, don't let your children to be ignorance about the country. Educate them about politics and the rights that they have. Don't be bias, allow your children to be able to make their own judgement and choice but first, help them to open up their eyes to what's really going on.

You don't want them to be left out in making a great changes for the country one day.

Saya anak bangsa Malaysia dan saya cintakan Malaysia! My race is Malaysia and I love Malaysia!

Have a great week ahead people! =)

Dear Miss Earth Sabah, Xandria Ban

Dear Miss Xandria,

I know I would sound like a creep if I said I fell for you ever since I first lay my eyes on your picture in the Miss Earth Sabah 2012's Facebook page, but that's not entirely the truth. It was my friend Tom from Rungitom.com that first introduced me to you, and recently he even showed me the pictures that he took of you in the East Meets West event. I was mesmerized and at the same time envy of Tom's job.

It was a heated conversation in the Cute Bloggers Gathering group page. Tom was trying to promote the other contestants but I know my heart has already being occupied by you and only you alone. Unlike Arms who initially have a crush on you too, but after being introduce to some of the contestants, his heart quickly changed like an ice-cream melts under the hot sun.

Thus the conversation got out of control and the next thing I realized is that my head was put on the line.

Tom will attempt to take a solo pictures with each of the Miss Earth Sabah 2012's contestant during the Green Charity Zumba Party this 8th of June, 630pm at Marina Club, Sutera Harbour Resort. Everyone will be wearing green that day since it was the given theme, and if Tom managed to accomplished his mission, I will have to go bald after that and Wyne as the unofficial judge will make sure of that.

Xandria, if you think going bald will be able to bring sexy back, then please do encourage your friends to take pictures with Tom (especially Joanna Marie Faurillo, Tom has a crush on her), but if you prefer to have me with my hair on, then please with all your might reject the request from Tom to take picture together.

Thank you Xandria for your time. I wish you all the best in the competition and hopefully the pictures I took from Rungitom's collection and shared below will be enough to buy you a few votes and win. I'll see you when I see you. Enjoy Zumba-ing!

*Disclaimer: This is just a fun post I made to promote Miss Earth Sabah 2012. Every information given regarding events mentioned is true as it is provided. Please support your favorite Miss Earth Sabah 2012!

Movie Review: Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted

8/10 Hilariously blown away!

The Madagascar series has got to be a real comedy classic in the years to come. The third installment really made me LOL with all the random jokes and ridiculous acts in the movie. It's animation, so anything is possible and Eric Darnell really make full use of it to create the wildest imagination of a circus can be.

My favorite scene would be the circus acts where Alex and the gang decided to get involved, Katy Perry's Fireworks, colorful lights, crazy stunt that only animation can do, I was simply mesmerized by the scene. It is as if I was living part of my childhood moment again :D

Overall, the movie is absolutely funny. Your favorite characters will not disappoint you at all!

A bright and breezy jaunt through Europe that delivers enough laughs, action and thrillingly staged adventure to keep the young ones happy.
-Mark Adams
Dazzlingly colorful and frenetic, Madagascar 3 is silly enough for young kids, but boasts enough surprising smarts to engage parents along the way.
Until next time, see you around my friend =)

Movie Review: Prometheus 2012

6/10 Fans will love the ending :D

I know of lot of Alien and Ridley Scott's fans are looking forward for Prometheus. The good news is, the movie is all what you can asked for in a sci-fi movie. Questions upon questions of why this and that, overall mind boggling - especially when Prometheus is about discovering the origin of mankind.

The down side of the whole movie for me, would be the lack of characters builds, which leave a lot of questions of why certain characters do what they do. In the end a lot of mystery left unresolved but in many ways, I really think that's the selling point for Prometheus. One thing for sure, fans will love what's install for them at the end.

Overall, the movie is a love and hate relationship for me. The aliens existed in the movie is kinda cool and gross at the same time tho xD

Prometheus is a visual triumph and if nothing else it deserves credit for the moments when it does evoke the early scenes in Alien with the same degree of sinister wonder.

Movie Review: Project X (2012)

7/10 The awesome party movie so far!

What would you do just to be popular for a day? You throw the baddest and most awesome party ever! Project X is such an epic teen movie. Uniquely done and marvelously entertaining. I for once would want to be in the party that they are throwing next!

Overloaded with foul language, gratuitous nudity, obnoxious characters, and the sub-standard cinematography of the "found footage" style.... But damn if it's not entertaining.
-Sean Means

I'll be at the premiere screening of Prometheus tonight! =)

My Movie Marathon Part II - Mirror Mirror (2012), The Dictator (2012), Gone (2012)

Mirror Mirror (2012)
4/10: The name Julia Roberts doesn't rhyme with good movie anymore? Perhaps it was a different kind of twist that made the movie less appealing. Everything was beautiful (specially Lily Collins) but the punch line for the comedy doesn't seems to hit anyone in the face at all.

The Dictator (2012)
3/10: Somehow I regretted watching this movie. It's either I'm not interested in this kind of comedy anymore or I just really don't like this movie. It was funny at some part but most of the part its just jokes that failed to dictate.

Gone (2012)
3/10: As much as I love Amanda Seyfried, she really got to choose a much better film to star in. This is one of the lamest suspense thriller that I have watched, gone and will soon be forgotten.

Until next time, see you around my friend =)

So Call Me Baby... Maybe...

"Hey I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my number, so call me maybe...", oh yeah the chorus just keep replaying itself in my head and its very hard to ignore especially when you have a bunch of gorgeously beautiful pinoy having fun with the song.

It's hard not to have a soft spot for beautiful pinoy when you grew up around community where Philipino exist. Especially after I saw Kristine Hermosa in Pangako Sayo, many many years ago, pinoy is on my list of girls that I should consider to get married with xD

Let's checkout some of the girls that was featured in the video!

Georgina Wilson

Isabelle Daza

Solenn Heussaff

Solenn looks a bit like Fay Hokulani ♥

Apparently there's a lot of pretty (and good looking) pinoy featured in the video and I might bored you with their pictures. Well here's the list of their name and twitter account. So check them out or follow them if you wish to;

Georgina Wilson (@iloveGeorgina), Isabelle Daza (@isabelledaza), Solenn Heussaff (@solennheussaff), Liz Uy (@lizzzuy), Bea Soriano (@itsbeasoriano), Anne Curtis (@annecurtissmith), Carla Humphries (@carla_humphries)

So why don't we just stop here and enjoy the rest of the weekend :D

Raise your glass and cheers!

My Movie Marathon Part I - John Carter (2012), The Mysterious Island (2012), Man On A Ledge (2012)

Lately I've been trying to catch up with all the movies that I have missed out in the cinema and those that was not release in Malaysia. It's been awhile since I've done a movie marathon, so here's the review for movies I've watched recently:

John Carter (2012)
5/10: The story is very straight forward and I like the general idea so much, but soon enough it runs out of excitement and ended up to be bland movie rather than an action filled fantasy movie.

Man On A Ledge (2012)
4/10: It doesn't create that sense of anxiety like the movie Phone Booth or Buried, but instead it turns out to be monotonous and somehow I don't see the significant of the man on the ledge.

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012)
3/10: I must have missed out the sign that says 'for 12 and below'. It was way too childish for me and I should stop wanting to see Venessa Hudgens in just any movie!

Until next time, see you around my friend =)
